Indian coffee grades tell you how the coffee was processed and how big the beans are. Here's what each part of the name means.
The fruit is removed and the beans are fermented and washed before drying. Washed coffee tends to taste cleaner and brighter.
Whole coffee cherries are sun-dried before the beans are hulled. Natural coffee tends to have more body and depth.
Grades are based on bean size, measured by screen. AA is the largest grade and A comes next. Even sizing helps the beans roast evenly.
Ripe cherries are picked by growers in our partner community.
The coffee is washed (Plantation) or sun-dried whole (Cherry).
Beans are dried to stable moisture and rested before milling.
The beans are hulled, sorted and graded by size and quality.
